My Mind Works Weird!!

First off, Happy December 1st!! Where has the year gone? Oh, I know, at work and worrying about that JOB and those FREAKS that come in there. So tonight I went and took a bath and read my new book that I got at the Library last week. It is Stephen King and oh SO GOOD. It is called "JUST AFTER SUNSET." One of the stories in it is called "STATIONARY BIKE." It reminded me (in a round-about way) about my Baby and everyone that has been in it his ENTIRE LIFE. At the end of the story it said "he got the hat to fitting just right . It would look better still when he got out of his going-to-lunch clothes and into a pair of paint-splatteres jeans. He'd look like a real working stiff...which he was, in spite of what some people might think." You see he (the guy in the book) paints pictures for advertising agencies and also murals. He got paid real well, but in New York not good enough. But in Small Town, Missouri, it would be really good. My Baby paints woodcrafts and makes really good money for us. Not near good enough for New York, but just great for Small Town.

My Baby had his own mowing business, wood cutting business, paper delivery, and cleaning the Bank, Post Offices, and churches in Tarkio and Fairfax. Made REAL GOOD money. Before he did the mowing and having 7 part-time jobs most that he had ever made was $13,000 a year for being Manager at a local truck stop. Got fired, because he wouldn't move his family (which consisted of his nephew and his newborn daughter, and his wife) so they gave him a severance check and told him in no uncertain terms to "not let the door hitcha where the Good Lord splitcha." So my Baby (not at that time or it would have been A WHOLE LOT DIFFERENT) started with his 7 part-time jobs so he didn't have to "punch the timeclock." He started mowing WITH A PUSH MOWER 30 yards. One of those yards was a senior housing yard. So then he got a rider and some help from his cousin and he added 16 more yards. He got paid really well and got paid REAL MONEY, no matter what anyone said. His wife at that time, would sit there and tell him to "GET A REAL JOB and start making some real money", and everyone else in his life. Anyway, off of my soap-box. Now, what I am trying to say is, when the crosses and his woodcrafts start making us REAL MONEY (which we don't need much because I don't like to shop and I AM NOT GOING TO GO TO WORK FOR THAT PLACE OR ANY OTHER PLACE!!) I am going to quit and help my Baby make his money. If we decide to go fishing we can take our cross equipment with us and sit on the bank of the lake and make our crosses. I am NOT going to EVER tell him what he does is not real work, because for one thing- it makes REAL money that pays our REAL bills and puts REAL food in our mouths and puts REAL clothes on our backs. So whatever some people may think he IS a WORKING STIFF. Sorry, I guess I didn't get off of my soap box.

He got to thinking about his past when he got a phone call from his nephew and thinking that if he hadn't had her and others telling him to get a real job, things wouldn't have been the way they are.

I am done for tonight. Sorry, again. Have a goodnight. I know that we are going to, I have a surprise for my Baby. I know that he will like it. So have a great night and forget about the past and think of our future. It will only get better, Baby. I love you and always will. I love our life together and can't wait for many MANY more years together. Goodnight.

Roxi, what people say is... well, just what they say. What matters is how you and Bill feel. If you feel that the crosses and woodcrafts will bring in enough to provide for you both, that's great. It doesn't matter what other people think. That's a hard one to learn but it's vital in a marriage.

You sound a lot like me. I don't want/need to be rich. I just want/need enough to pay the bills on time, hopefully have health insurance some day, and be able to save for our future. I'm not greedy - neither is my husband and a lot of people would say what we make isn't enough. But it is enough for us. So, I understand what you're saying..and you go, girl! ;)
